Clean & Free up your space · by Nexa · Last updated: 30 September 2026

Clean & Free up your space (“the app”) is built by Nexa (“we”, “us”). We designed the app so that your photos, contacts and files stay on your device. This policy explains what the app accesses, why, and the choices you have.

1. Summary

2. Permissions and why we need them

The app asks for each permission only when you use the related feature. You can refuse or turn off any permission at any time.

PermissionHow it is used
Photos & videosTo find duplicate and similar photos, screenshots, blurry shots and large videos you may want to remove. Analysis runs on your device only.
ContactsTo find duplicate or incomplete contacts so you can merge or remove them. Contacts are processed on your device only.
CameraTo take photos of documents directly into your private vault, and for the optional intruder photo feature if you turn it on.
MicrophoneTo record audio together with videos you capture into your private vault. The app never records in the background.
Face ID / biometricsTo unlock your private vault. Biometric data is handled by your device’s operating system and is never accessed by the app.
FilesTo help you find large or unneeded files you select.
MotionOnly to show device activity details in the device info section, if available. Motion data is not stored or shared.

3. Where your data stays

Photos, videos, contacts, files, vault items, notes and your vault PIN are stored locally on your device. Vault contents are protected by your PIN and, if enabled, Face ID. We cannot see or recover them, including your PIN.

4. Analytics and crash reports

We use the following Google Firebase services to understand how the app is used and to fix problems:

This data may include device model, operating system version, app version, country/region, and an app instance identifier. It never includes the content of your photos, videos, contacts, files or vault. Google processes this data under the Firebase privacy and security terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except Google Firebase as described above, or when required by law.

6. Deleting items

Nothing is deleted without your confirmation. On iOS, photos you delete move to the “Recently Deleted” album in the Photos app, where they can be recovered for a limited time.

7. Data retention

Data on your device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes everything the app stored, including the vault. Analytics and crash data are kept by Firebase according to its standard retention periods.

8. Your choices and rights

9. Security

We use the security features of your device’s operating system, such as secure storage and biometric authentication, to protect your data. No method is 100% secure, so please keep your device and vault PIN safe.

10. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
